Bude 12; Atlantic Porth Rovers 0

Bude's first home game of the season proved what can be achieved with fluid movement, passing and team spirit, but lets give all credit to Rovers, who, even when the score reached double figures, were still giving it a go and making a game of it.  Smith scored 5, Short 2, and Stubbs,  Watton,  Warburton,  Olde and  Faid were also on the scoresheet. But if goals-a-plenty were the icing on the cake, then what a tasty cake it was, with Wosnitzka, Fry and Watts a brick wall in front of 'keeper White, and Peschke, Mitchell and Bickle constant thorns in the side of Rovers' defence. Frankly, the scoreline might have been higher were it not for the brilliance of Rovers' keepers Hawkey and Wilkinson, and Moses, who had a good game in defence.

Result: Bude 9; Gorran 2

Bude kept up their 100% record with another emphatic win against battling Gorran, with Olde netting five times, Smith twice, and Short and Bickle managing one-apiece. The defence of Tape, Peschke, Fry and Faid were simply masterful at times, and with White confident between the sticks it was an uphill task for brave Gorran, who managed two goals, one a powerful strike by D.Semple and the other a well taken penalty from Newton. Stubbs, Watts and Watton worked the wings with great flair for Bude, and Davis was spreading the ball confidently along with Watson in midfield. Gorran weren't about to lie down and roll over however, and hit the post in the second half, but manager Dean Davis will be pleased with Bude's performance which on the day was a class above.

Result: Bude 8; East Carradon Rangers 0

The good times just kept rolling for Bude as they notched their fourth straight win of the season against newcomers Rangers. Mitchell powered on to a through ball to put Bude ahead, with Olde doubling the lead soon after. Smith made it three, and Faid banged in a beauty from the left to give Bude a 4-0 lead at the break. Smith then curled a lovely shot into the top corner for number five. Bickle made it six, then White made a triple save to keep a cleen sheet. Mitchell got to a lovely cross from Peschke for Bude's seventh, and Davis cracked a long range special for 8-0. Credit to Wosnitzka, Fry and Tape, superb as ever in defence, tough-tackling Warburton and Watson, and Miles who was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Rangers are still finding their feet, and showed plenty of promise throughout, but on the day were no match for classy Bude. Ref: Craig Simpson

Result: Dobwalls 1; Bude 4 (Cup Result)

A great result for Bude as they beat League A high flyers Dobwalls with a majestic display of football. It would be impossible to pick a man of the match as this was a brilliant all-round team effort. White was superb in goal when needed, and Tape, Warburton, Fry, Wosnitzka and Faid all gave a masterclass in defence. Midfielders Short and Davis knew they were up against a brilliantly organised Dobwalls team, but frustrated the home side time and again as did Bude's Peschke, Smith and Watton, and it was no surprise to see Bude take the lead when Olde ran on to a great cross from Mitchell and slotted in. Hard tackling Dobwalls were bound to give Bude a few scares, but the boys stuck to their game and got their reward through hat-trick hero Bickle to make it 4-0 with minutes left. Danger man Simmons got a consolation for Dobwalls to leave it 4-1 to Bude. Great credit to all the lads involved.

Result: Nanstallon 3; Bude 6

Two goals from Pas and another by Strout gave Nanstallon a three goal dream start to the match, and Bude a mountain to climb, so, with crampons duly donned off they went ! Peschke found the top corner, then Olde latched onto an unselfish pass from Bickle for number two. A hopeful long range shot by Stubbs equalised for Bude, then Stubbs again gave Bude the lead just before the break. A superb through-ball from Warburton found Olde for Bude's fifth goal, then a lovely one-two between Faid and Watson ended with Faid's beautifully weighted cross falling to Olde for his hat-trick. Despite losing the important Fry in defence to injury, Wosnitzka, Watts, and Short held their nerve really well, and White in goal grows in stature with every game. Davis and Smith both gave important contributions in midfield, and despite Nanstallon's valiant efforts, Bude ended comfortable winners.

Result: Bude 4; Southgate 3

Bude had to dig deep in this top of the table thriller, eventually winning a see-saw battle in the mud and rain.Southgate took the lead through Bye, then Bude equalised with a wonderful free kick by Peschke. Bickle thumped home to put Bude in front, then Bye made it two for Southgate with another superb free-kick. Peschke lobbed the keeper to put Bude back in front, but another free kick from Bye made it 3-3. Faid, Smith, Watton and Davis were controlling things well in midfield for Bude, but Southgate 'keeper Porter kept the visitors in it with a series of great saves. White looked comfortable in Bude's goalmouth, and although Southgate's defence looked solid, Bude's matched theirs in every position with Fry, Short, Wosnitzka Warburton and Tape strong and resolute. With Stubbs pushing up and Olde a constant menace Bude went looking for the winner and found it when Mitchell latched on to a pass and confidently slotted it in.

Result: Bude 6; Lifton 2

Bude eventually eased through to the semi-finals with an assured win over Lifton, but it wasn't all one-way traffic. A great diagonal run and cross in from Smith saw Mitchell volley in for Bude's first goal. After Stubbs lobbed the 'keeper for goal no.2, an unfortunate own goal made it 3-0, then Stubbs side - footed Bude's fourth goal. Spirited Lifton kept pushing and soon it was 4-2 through Batten and Collings. Midfielders Davis, Short and Peschke steadied the ship for Bude, and defenders Wosnitzka, Fry, Warburton and Tape tightened things up confidently at the back. White pulled off a superb save to keep Bude in front, and Bickle, Watson and Watton made nuisances of themselves all over the pitch. A great volley by Faid hit the back post, then Michell slotted in his second and Bude's fifth. Stubbs completed the win for Bude with his hat-trick goal.

Result: Bude 4;Tintagel 2

Despite a hatful of chances, it looked not to be Bude's day when Moth cracked a lovely left foot shot to put Tintagel in front. Parsons then made it 2-0 to the visitors and things appeared bleak. White was looking comfortable in goal for Bude however, and Watson, Fry, Warburton and Wosnitzka were unfazed by the 2 goal disadvantage, playing the ball superbly out of defence time and again. A second half penalty was thundered home by Bickle, then a great run and cross from Peschke found Short who equalised for Bude. Watton, Mitchell and Olde were turning the screw in midfield with some great passing, and despite wonderful efforts from 'keeper Brooks, there was nothing he could do when birthday boy Faid volleyed in from distance. It ended 4-2 to Bude when the other birthday boy, Smith fired into the roof of the net.

The score at the end of a mainly poor first half was even at one goal apiece. Bude scored first when SHORT cut inside the area and fired into the top corner. Porth equalised when SPRAY was given time and space to lift a shot over Bude 'keeper WHITE. It was early into the second half before Bude began to put some passes together when STUBBS, pushed a ball through to OLDE who finished well to make it 2-1. With 15 minutes left, slack marking allowed WILKINSON to put Porth level again. With Porth tiring, Bude restored their advantage when WATTON ran into the area and beat 'keeper KELLYat his near post. The final few minutes saw OLDE score his second from close range and BICKLE given a free run made it 5. There was just time for MILES to slip the ball to WATTS who smashed his shot into the top corner to complete a slightly flattering scoreline. Bude Players not mentioned: FAID, WARBURTON, TAPE, DAVIS,WATSON, FRY AND WOSNITZKA .

Result: Bude 2; Atlantic Porth Argyle 1

A depleted Argyle side battled like lions throughout the game, and Bude needed to be constantly alert to deal with the threat of this class act. Wosnitzka lead the defence brilliantly, with Warburton, Faid and Fry simply superb at times, and White solid in goal when needed. The pace of Mitchell and battling qualities of Watton, Davis and Smith helped relieve the pressure in midfield for Bude; crucial when up against dangermen like Smith and Bevan for Argyle. Good work by Short found Olde with a threaded through-ball, who then went on a mazey run and got the ball to Bickle to confidently score for Bude. It was 2-0 when a workhorse performance from Peschke was rewarded with a neat chip into the net. No way were Argyle finished however, and Pearman, who'd threatened constantly, made it 2-1. Watson and Stubbs came on to give Bude fresh legs, and played well to steady the ship. A tough game played by two quality sides, made all the more watchable by good refereeing from Andy Haynes.

A six goal win by Bude, but it could have been more if not for an outstanding display from Nanstallon 'keeper Hepples, and defender Armstrong. White dealt well with what little he had to do in the Bude goalmouth, and Warburton, Wosnitzka, Fry, Tape and Peschke all played their part in maintaining another clean sheet. Short, Watson and Watton's battling midfield display gave prolific goalscorer Olde the chance to complete his hat-trick before half time which he duly took, then Miles cleverly wrong-footed the 'keeper for Bude's fourth. The delicate skills of Smith and the strength of Watts combined nicely to cause Nanstallon problems, then just as the game was going a little flat, Davis lobbed the 'keeper from fully 30 yards for the fifth goal, then Mitchell capped an outstanding display with Bude's sixth. Hats off to Nanstallon who battled to the end with ten men, and credit to Bude who have kept their 100% league and cup record intact.

Result: Bude 2; St.Stephen 1

Bude clinched the league title with two games remaining after this hard fought victory over spirited St. Stephen. Bude's centre back pairing of Warburton and Wosnitzka were solid against the threat of Rowe, and each wing was used effectively through Faid and Whitefield (excellent debut) on the left and Watson and Stubbs on the right. Warburton's fine free kick found Smith who cooly lobbed the 'keeper for Bude's first goal. St. Stephen equalised when the ever dangerous Osbourne slotted in, but chances for the visitors where thin on the ground as Bude went looking to win the league with their last home match of the season. Shots on goal came from Watton, Peschke, Davis, Miles, Bickle and Olde.....all fine efforts but 'keeper Ford was playing a blinder, as was Bude's White, tipping over a great shot to keep Bude's title hopes alive. Finally Watts pounced on a loose ball and slammed it into the roof of the net. The final whistle from ref. Craig Simpson let the celebrations begin. Well done lads and coach Dean Davis for putting another trophy in the cabinet.
